Culture in Care Conference
‘Nottingham’s City and County LINks’ overwhelmed with responses to the first Culture in Care Conference….
People from Nottingham’s diverse communities will be able to make a real difference to health and social care issues that are important to them. The LINks are set up to assess and review our experiences of publicly funded health and social care provisions.
Both LINks’ have joined forces to host the ‘Culture in Care’ conference and workshops event on Friday 17th April 2009 at the Nottingham City Council House between 11am and 3pm and a consultation and awareness day on 22nd April 2009, 11am – 3pm. The ‘question time’ themed event will examine the experiences of minority communities using Health and Social Care services in the city and county.
The conference (which has had such an overwhelming response that it was oversubscribed within 10 days of being advertised) will be streamed live on the internet and will feature an impressive, professional panel that includes:
Councillor Edward Llewellyn – Jones (Chair of the Over view & Scrutiny Committee and Health for the County)
Councillor Ginny Klein (Chair of Health and Adult Social Care Committee for the City)
Giles Matsell (Head of Equalities & Diversity Nottingham University Hospitals Trust NHS)
Julie Andrews (Patient & Public Involvement Manager – Mansfield & Ashfield. NHS Nottinghamshire County)
Veronica Sterling (Commissioning Manager for Housing and Health Nottingham City)Ebru Ince (BME worker for Nottinghamshire County and Nottingham City LINks’) said: “This event gives everyone a chance to identify where improvement is needed most and where good practice is already in place”.
People who attend the event will be able to pose questions and give feedback about their experiences of health and care services.
The event on the 17th is now fully booked and the 22nd April is open to the public, for more information contact the LINks team on: 0115 9754647 or send an email to: info@strongerlocalvoice.com
